What is the Housing Element?

The Housing Element is part of the General Plan and is the City's primary housing strategy. This document includes an assessment of housing needs and conditions in the city and establishes goals and policies to meet these needs.

 

Why does the Housing Element need to be updated?

State Law requires the Housing Element be updated every 8 years. The existing Housing Element is intended to plan for the City's housing needs from 2023-2031.

 Where can I find the current Housing Element? 

The current Housing Element was adopted by City Council on August 1, 2023, and certified by The Department of Housing and Community Development on October 9, 2023. The adopted Housing Element for 2023-2031 can be accessed using the links below:
