IN AN EMERGENCY DIAL 911
When the operator answers, say your name and give your location, including the exact address if you known it. Tell the operator what happened and if anyone is injured, especially if anyone is bleeding or unconscious. Stay on the line until the operator tells you it is okay to hang up.

Don’t rush over to an injured person unless it’s safe for you to do so. Don’t go near burning cars or buildings and stay away from downed power lines. If it’s not safe to assist an injured person, wait for the emergency response team to arrive.

If you have a cell phone, always keep the battery charged and carry it with you. If you see anything dangerous or suspicious, contact the Police Department immediately at 942-2810.

Prepare in Advance for an Emergency
Knowing what to do ahead of time can help you deal with an emergency in a calm and effective manner. We advise everyone in the Calistoga area to take a basic first-aid class and, if possible, a class in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation(CPR). These classes are available from the American Heart Association:
